Welcome to Cobb Atlanta Volleyball

Our mission is to teach each player the game of volleyball in a healthy environment. We strive to help each girl grow as an individual athlete as well as a team participant. We also will create an environment that fosters community involvement by the players and the club as a whole. We pledge to run an organized volleyball club, and we will communicate with parents as much as possible. Our coaches will work together as a group, to not only better their own team, but the club as a whole. Coaches will also continue their education of volleyball to obtain new techniques and drills that enable each player to develop to their full potential.

Save the dates: Club dinners for 2011 season

How's this for really advanced notice? Save the dates in your calendar if you're planning to play with a Cobb Atlanta club team for the 2011 season for our two club dinners:

Season Kick-Off & Uniform Distribution: Friday, January 7th at 6:30 p.m.

Season Wrap-Up & Awards Dinner: Friday, April 29th at 6:30 p.m.

Both dinners will be held at The Commons at Kennesaw State University; more details on how to sign up to come after teams are selected.

Congratulations to Cobb Atlanta's Shelli Sherman from last year's 17 Red team for signing to play volleyball at Agnes Scott College! Shelli is a fantastic athlete and a great addition to any team. For more information about volleyball at Agnes Scott College, click here.

CAJ NEXT - Fall Team

The CAJ (Cobb Atlanta Juniors) NEXT team is an opportunity for those players not playing with a school team (or who can participate along with their school's program) to continue to build their volleyball skills through the Fall season. Anyone ages 8-14 is eligible to participate.
 
The program will run from August 12th until October 21st. Each team will have a dedicated coach, and will be made up of 8-10 players.
 
The CAJ NEXT Fall teams will play Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with practices on Thursdays from 6-8, and matches on Tuesdays.  All practices will be at McCleskey Middle School and matches at All Tournament Players Park on Canton Hwy. 
 
Cost: $325 per player
 
We will form teams of 8-10 girls, depending on the number that sign up. Each team will have a dedicated coach, and will play other teams in  from other organizations in the All Tournament Players Park League.

I wish all the Cobb Atlanta players who are trying out for their high school and middle school teams soon GOOD LUCK! Be sure to send me an email to let me know what team you end up playing for, so I can try to visit some of the matches this Fall. 

All of us here at Cobb Atlanta look forward to the 2011 club volleyball season, too! Keep checking back for more information about tryouts, which will take place after the school season is done, and other information about this club season.

Your help needed: McCleskey Floor Update

Cobb Atlanta is raising money to help McCleskey Middle School, who has helped us have a convenient and inexpensive practice facility, replace their gym floor. If you've been there recently, you know that their floor is discolored, water damaged, and the lines and lighting are not great--they need our help. We've raised more than half of the money needed through camps, clinics, and donations from families in the club.

All we need is each family to donate $30 to have all the money we need to replace the floor and the lighting... please go to the McCleskey Donation Page for more information and to donate online. 
 
THANK YOU to those families who have already donated; and thank you in advance for those donating in these final weeks.

UPDATE:   We are currently only $450 from our goal!    That means we only need 15 more families to donate!!
