Welcome to Cobb Atlanta Volleyball

Our mission is to teach each player the game of volleyball in a healthy environment. We strive to help each girl grow as an individual athlete as well as a team participant. We also will create an environment that fosters community involvement by the players and the club as a whole. We pledge to run an organized volleyball club, and we will communicate with parents as much as possible. Our coaches will work together as a group, to not only better their own team, but the club as a whole. Coaches will also continue their education of volleyball to obtain new techniques and drills that enable each player to develop to their full potential.

Club Dinner Friday, January 15

As announced via the Cobb Atlanta newsletter earlier this week, the Club Dinner will take place on Friday, January 15th at 7 p.m. in the Kell High School Cafeteria. The easiest way to access the Kell cafeteria is to go around the building to the left of the normal gym entrance to where the bus parking is. You'll see steps to a courtyard there, and the cafeteria is up the steps and on the left side of the courtyard.

Anyone interested in helping set up should arrive around 5:45; and more help is needed for clean-up if you can plan to stay a little late.

Although most players should have already received their uniforms and bags by now, this dinner is the kick-off to the Cobb Atlanta tournament season; the teams are formally introduced and club rosters are given out. Good luck to all the Cobb Atlanta teams playing in Chattanooga and Suwanee tournaments this weekend!

All Practice Cancelled as of Sat @ 2:00 PM

I just heard from the gym supervisor at Kell, and he said due to the large ice patch at the entrance to the school he has to close the school tomorrow.  So unfortunately practice is cancelled again!

Weekend Events Canceled!

Due to Cobb County Schools being canceled tomorrow, the club dinner, club play day, and Sundays practices are all canceled!  Please check your email in the next few days to see if we can reschedule some practices and the dinner!

Practice Tonight Canceled!!! Thursday, 1/7

Cobb County has canceled all school activites after 6 PM this evening, so the gyms will be closed.  Please make sure to check the website and your email with news about the Club Dinner tomorrow.

Weather Update
The most current weather forecast indicates snow accumulation will not begin until approximately 7 p.m. Thursday. Therefore, Cobb County schools and facilities will remain open and on regular schedules Thursday. All after-school activities that were scheduled to begin after 6 p.m. have been canceled. Additionally, parents with children in the After School Program are encouraged to pick up their children as soon as possible Thursday afternoon. The District will continue to monitor weather and road conditions into the night. If any changes are made regarding school status on Friday, January 8, 2010, the announcement will be made either late Thursday night or early Friday morning and will be posted online at www.cobbk12.org, broadcast through the local television, radio and newspaper media, and delivered to all district parents in an automated phone call.

Parents Fitness Session

Parents Workout Sessions are going to be available on Tuesdays.  7:30-8:30 at McClesky.  The session will run for 4 weeks in January and be $40 for 4 weeks.  We need 8 parents for the class to be a go, so if you can have your parents email Cheryl Francis to let them know if they would like to sign up and we would start this TUESDAY (1/5).
